This week, our class will continue learning about moms and all they do for us. We will read a story called Moms Do So Much. We will also begin a writing assignment in which we talk about all the things our moms do for us. During current events, we will read an article about Baby Zoo Animals. The article talks about how many baby zoo animals are born in the spring, making it a fun time to visit the zoo. The article also has links to watch live videos of baby zoo animals across the country. During science, the students will learn how to classify animals into different categories based on their characteristics (i.e. birds, amphibians, mammals, reptiles, and fish). On Friday, the class will be taking quizzes on all they have learned and make a recipe called "Safari Dip", using fun-fetti cake mix, cool whip, and animal crackers.
Have a great week and a wonderful Mother's Day!

Week of 10/16
Dear Parents and Families,
This week during reading, our class will be learning about bats. We will read a story about how bats live, what they eat, how they fly, etc. and complete a bat art project. During current events, we will be reading an article about the World Series. We will learn about the sport of baseball and track the teams that are playing in the World Series. We will also be doing a Halloween STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, & math) challenge. Each day we will participate in a fun Halloween related experiment or activity. In addition to reading, current events, and our Halloween STEAM challenge, we will have math, art, music, and gym.
Have a great week!
